Richard Alan Rick Bohning, 65, of Jefferson City, died Sunday, March 8, 2009, at his residence. He was born on May 30, 1943, in St. Louis, Mo., the son of the late Herman John and Helen Irene Trammel Bohning. He was married on Jan. 29, 1966, in Jefferson City to Mary Ann Renn who survives at the home. Mr. Bohning was a 1961 graduate of Fulton High School and received a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration degree from Lincoln University in 1969. He retired in 1995 as a Public Relations Specialist with U.S. Sprint where he had served for twenty-six years. He was U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam Era stationed in Korea. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and other Missouri Catholic churches where he served in numerous choirs and as song leader through the years. Mr. Bohning was a member of Helias Knights of Columbus Council 1054; Dan C. Coppin Fourth Degree Assembly; Jefferson City Cantorum; Jefferson City Little Theater; Missouri Jaycees; Fraternal Order of Elks; United Telephone Pioneers; United Services Armed Forces Association; and was a charter member of the Maryville Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors. Other survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Rochelle A. and Raymond Stout, Jefferson City; one son, Jeffery A. Bohning, Jefferson City; two grandsons, SPC. Joseph Vance Jisa, currently serving in Kuwait; and James Richard Jisa, Jefferson City; one brother and sister-in-law, Herman John Jack and Cleta Bohning, Tulsa, Okla.; and one brother-in-law, Edward K. Bright, Millersburg, Mo. He was preceded in death by one sister, Shirley Bright; and one brother, Jerry Bohning. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Thursday, March 12, 2009, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Rev. Patrick G. Dolan officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Thursday at the church.
