Robert DeWayne Kendall, 77, of Jefferson City, passed away Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at The Bluffs in Columbia, Missouri.

He was born September 25, 1946, in Milaca, Minnesota, the son of Merlin Willmer and Marcedes Otilla (Steinbach) Kendall.

He was united in marriage on June 26, 1992, in Jefferson City to Linda Darlene Bridges who survives at the home.

Robert served in the United States Army as an infantry soldier for over 23 years.  He also served as an ROTC instructor.  Following his honorable discharge from the Army, Robert worked part-time for Von Hoffman Press and the Cole County Sheriff’s Department.  In his spare time, Robert enjoyed Bass fishing.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Kendall, Jefferson City; two stepchildren, Donna (Edward) Greenslit, Jefferson City; Dan Cooley, Kansas City, MO; several step grandchildren; and two siblings, Terry (Terry) Kendall, MN; and Mary McHan, AZ.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Carol (Robert) Beske; and brother-in-law, Joel McHan.

A graveside service with military honors will be held on Monday, January 8, 2024, at 12 noon at the Jacksonville Veterans Cemetery with Rev. John Kerr officiating.

  2. Was my ex husbands best friend. I have known him since I was 19.5 years old. He was our best man at my wedding. We were friends for many years. He visited us in Germany and Georgia. I loved him.
