With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Robert L. Werdehausen of Wardsville, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.  He was born on May 18, 1945 in Meta to the late Victor and Rose (Otto) Werdehausen.  He lived a long life characterized by wisdom, kindness, and unwavering commitment to his family.  On January 21, 2025, at the age of 79, Robert passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family, leaving a legacy of love, strength and selflessness.

Bob learned the value of hard work at a young age working with his father and siblings in the charcoal kilns.  In June of 1963, Bob enlisted in the U.S. Army.  He served his country until he was honorably discharged in 1969.  Bob married Dorothy Talken at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on November 14, 1964.  They had just celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.  Whether he was hauling cattle for farmers, fishing, tractor pulling, welding, milling lumber, or checking livestock on his farm, Bob was never one to sit still.   In later years, he loved to go camping with his family and friends and visiting the casinos.
