Roger Anton Baumhoer

Roger Anton Baumhoer, 81, of Jefferson City passed away on Wednesday, May 6, 2026 at Capital Region Medical Center.
He was born in Folk on July 24, 1944 to the late Anton and Martha (Heckman) Baumhoer. At the age of 21, Roger was drafted into the U.S. Army. He served in Vietnam as an airplane mechanic. Roger was Honorably Discharged with a rank of Private First Class. Upon returning home, he worked for Westinghouse which became ABB. Roger was employed there for over 30 years until his retirement.
Roger loved animals, especially a fondness for cats. Over the years he had several cats with his favorite being Miss Kitty. Roger was known to have a “green thumb”. He enjoyed working in the garden growing flowers and vegetables. His home was decorated with many of his favorite plants. From an early age, Roger had an artistic side. He had a variety of interests, which included embroidery, string art, drawing, painting, creating plaster figurines and solving many a jigsaw puzzle.
Survivors include his sister, Patricia Baumhoer of Westphalia; nieces and nephews, Tricia Luadzers and her daughter, Emily Porterfield of Jefferson City, Thomas (Brenda) Luadzers of St. Martins, Carla (Troy) Flickinger of Taos, Darren (Christy) Feltrop of Taos, Donnie (Brenda) Baumhoer of Linn, Greg (Nichole) Baumhoer of Loose Creek, Wanda (Keith) Abbott of Folk, Wayne Baumhoer of Folk, Paul (Laura) Baumhoer of Argyle, Ronald Baumhoer of Folk, Brenda (Daryl) Zeugin of Jefferson City, Lisa (Mike) Yungbluth of Jefferson City, Mary (Mike) Griggs of South Carolina; many grand and great-grand nieces and nephews. Roger was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Frank; sisters, Julianna Bauer and Eleanor Luadzers; brothers-in-law, Norman Baumhoer, Ray Bauer and Gary Luadzers; sister-in-law, Pat Baumhoer; nieces and nephews, Kathy Simpson, Norma Jean Baumhoer, Danny Luadzers and Mark Baumhoer.
Visitation will be Wednesday, May 13, 2026 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Folk. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Dylan Schader officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with full military honors.
Memorials may be directed to the church toward masses prayed for Roger or People Helping Paws Cat Rescue, 702 E. McCarty St., JCMO 65101.
