Rosie Strobel, 73, of Centertown, passed away peacefully surrounded by her kids on Sunday, October 11,2026

Rosie was born February 13, 1953, in the state of Colorado, the daughter of James Martin and Mattie (McCall) Martin.

On August 4, 1973, she married the love of her life, Richard William Strobel, who preceded her in death on June 18, 2023. They shared almost 50 years of marriage.

Rosie spent her life caring for others.  She was a devoted homemaker, and babysat for almost 40 years! Families trusted her so completely that she cared for two generations of children from the same households.  Many of the children she once rocked to sleep grew up and brought their own little ones to her door.  To countless kids, she was a second mom.

Rosie loved to cook, and her kitchen was the heart of her home. She enjoyed a good scary movie.  Above all, she treasured time with her kids and her grandchildren.

She is survived by her children: Danielle Allen of Centertown; Emily Braun and husband Mark of Osage Bend; Amanda Phillips and husband Bart of Russellville; and Matt Strobel and wife Katie of Centertown.  She is also survived by eight grandchildren: Amber Braun Smith and husband Kyle, Brandon Allen, Danessa Strobel, Ava Phillips, Owen Allen, Joe Strobel, Georgia Phillips, William Phillips; and one great grandchild, Noland Phillips.  Other survivors include her sister, JoAnn Wiser of Russellville, and many extended family members and friends, including the many families whose children she helped raise.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard; and two brothers, August Martin and Marty Martin.

Visitation will be 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. Thursday, October 15, 2026, at Trimble Funeral Homes – Russellville.  A funeral service will follow at 12 p.m. with Pastor David Viles officiating.  Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to the family of Rosie Strobel to be used in the future for a meaningful cause.
