Ruby Jane Pemberton Bell, 83, of Fulton, MO, died Sunday, July 23, 2006, at Callaway Community Hospital, Fulton. She was born on Feb. 2, 1923, in Callaway County, the daughter of Albert and Leola Davis McBride. She was married on May 3, 1947 in Fulton to Fred Pemberton, Jr., who died on April 23, 1993. She was married on July 6, 2000 in Las Vegas, NV to Alexander Graham Bell who survives at the home. Mrs. Bell was a graduate of Lincoln Lab School in Jefferson City and received her Licensed Practical Nursing education from the Mexico School of Nursing. She was employed as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Callaway County Hospital and as Director of Nursing with Kingdom Nursing Home. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Fulton, where she served in the Womens Missionary Society, Mary Burroughs Circle, and Ladies Chorus. She later united with St. James United Methodist Church, Fulton, where she served as a Communion Steward, Lay Speaker, Sunday School Teacher, Trustee, and member of the Willing Workers Circle. Other survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Michael B. and Peggy Pemberton, Jefferson City; two step-sons and their wives, Alexander, Jr. and Dr. Patricia Coker-Bell, Chesapeake, VA; and Joseph and Patricia Bell, Indianapolis, IN; two step daughters, Ruth E. Arthur, Atlanta, GA; and Jo Ann Hare and her husband, Dr. James Hare, Chicago, IL; three grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Opal Margaret Hughes, St. Louis; and Martha Rose Galbreath and her husband, Kenneth, Fulton, MO; three brothers, Jack McBride, Fulton, MO; Percy McBride and his wife, Patricia, Fulton, MO; and Dr. Charles McBride, Muskegon Heights, MI; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband; four brothers, James, Leroy, Durwood, and Arnold McBride; and one sister, Pauline Page. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, July 29, 2006, at St. James United Methodist Church, Fulton, with the Rev. Richard Mayson and the Rev. Isaiah Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Southside Cemetery, Fulton. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday, July 28th, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home, Jefferson City. Additional visitation will be 10 a.m. until time of the service on Saturday at the church. Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donors choice.
