Sandra Catherine Amend, 82, of Jefferson City passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2024, surrounded by her family at her home.
She was born on January 7, 1942, in Jefferson City, the daughter of Joseph and Lorraine (Schulte) Bosch, Sr.
She was united in marriage to Carl Amend and he preceded her in death on May 19, 1976.
Sandra was a first-grade teacher for many years at St. Joseph Catholic School in Westphalia. Later, she worked for the State of Missouri, Department of Health.
She was a lifetime member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
She enjoyed tole painting and counted cross stitch projects especially when a new grandchild was born. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include five children, Allison (Randy) Amend-Hamacher, Holts Summit; Lori Amend, Jefferson City; Julie (Shaun) Schmitz, Jefferson City; Dennis (Julie) Amend, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; and Amy (Steve) Brainard, North Liberty, Iowa; fourteen grandchildren, Garrett (Beth) Schmitz, Sabrina (Nick) Frank, Gavin Schmitz, Grant Schmitz, Grayden Schmitz, Lydia Amend, Savannah Amend, Noah Amend, Emma Amend, Nicholas Amend, Jesse Amend, Randy Amend, Adylin Amend, and Katie Amend; three great-grandchildren, Elise Frank, Elias Frank, and Carson Schmitz; four siblings, Dennis (Ann) Bosch, Independence, Missouri; Carolyn Welschmeyer, Jefferson City; Chris (Barb) Bosch, Jefferson City; and Jeanie (Mike) Boeckman, Austin, Texas; and a sister-in-law, Kathy Bosch.
She was preceded in death by an infant son, Joseph Amend, a brother, Joseph Bosch, Jr.; and three sisters, Michile Bosch, Betty (Ray) Nilges; and Susan Bosch.
Visitation will be 10-12:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 12 Noon on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jefferson City with Rev. Matthew J. Flatley celebrating.
Burial will be in Resurrection Catholic Mausoleum.
Memorials are suggested to Immaculate Conception Catholic School.
