Sarah Argentine Barr “Tina” Malone, 93, of Jefferson City, passed away Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at Heisinger Bluffs.

She was born November 4, 1930, in Beech Grove, Arkansas, to Thomas Newton and Margie Elizabeth (Merts) Barr.

A 1949 graduate of Stanford High School in Paragould, Arkansas, she earned her LPN in 1981 from Nichols Career Center.

On December 2, 1950, she was united in marriage in Paragould, Arkansas, to Robert Michael Malone, who preceded her in death on January 31, 2015.

She worked as an LPN at Capital Region Medical Center for sixteen years, retiring in 1996.

She was a member of Concord Baptist Church and life member of the Air Force Sergeants Auxiliary, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, and the Disabled American Veterans. She was also a member of the Red Hat Ladies Society.

Sarah was a world traveler.  She traveled with her husband and children to Okinawa, and later to Europe, living in Germany for three years.  She enjoyed watching FOX NEWS and was politically savvy.  She was a competitive board game player and loved playing with all her grandchildren.  After moving to Heisinger, she really enjoyed seeing and being with her girlfriends there and participating in all the social activities with them.

Survivors include her three daughters, Beverly (Keith) Benton, Kingman, Arizona; Pamela Malone, Kansas City, Kansas; and Terri Jo Elliot, Holts Summit; one son, Robert (Michelle) Malone II, Jefferson City; thirteen grandchildren; thirty-two great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law, Betty Barr, Memphis, Tennessee; and Wilma Barr, Paragould, Arkansas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers, and two sisters.

Visitation will be 9:30-11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 4, 2024, at Trimble Funeral Homes followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with Dr. Monte Shinkle officiating.

Burial will be in Hawthorne Memorial Gardens.

Memorials are suggested to Tunnel to Towers.

  4. I worked with Tina at Health Branch West in the 90’s. I will forever remember her smile and her kindness. Tina was beautiful inside and out! Please accept my sincere condolences. And, rejoice in the knowledge that she (And Bob) are resting in God’s arms now.
