Stanley Edward Bernskoetter, 73, of Wardsville, died Thursday, August 11, 2005, at St. Marys Health Center. He was born on Sept. 18, 1931, in Taos, the son of Joseph and Roseanna Helen Wekenborg Bernskoetter. He was married on Sept. 6, 1952, in Taos to Mary Catherine Wilbers who died on Sept. 28, 1993. Mr. Bernskoetter owned and operated Bernskoetter Bus Service for nearly thirty years, providing transportation services to Blair Oaks School District and St. Stanislaus Catholic School. He was also a life-long farmer in the Wardsville area. He was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Wardsville. Survivors include one sister and brother-in-law, Ella and Cletus Heckman, Jefferson City; one brother and sister-in-law, Wilbur and Ethel Bernskoetter, Henley, MO; several nieces and nephews; and two god-children, Karen Kliethermes, Jefferson City; and Terry Bernskoetter, Eugene, MO. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Sharon Kathryn Bernskoetter, on Feb. 23, 2005; and one brother, Eddie Bernskoetter. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, 2005, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Wardsville, with the Rev. Gregory C. Meystrik officiating. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 12th, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Additional visitation will be 9-10 a.m. Saturday at the church. Memorials are suggested to St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, 6418 Route W, Jefferson City, MO 65101; or St. Stanislaus Education Foundation, 6410 Route W., Jefferson City, MO 65101.
