Stephen Christopher “Steve” Nentwig, 70, of Jefferson City, passed away Tuesday, April 20, 2021, at his residence.
He was born June 17, 1950, in Jefferson City, the son of the late Arthur Christopher and Anna Mae (Stokes) Nentwig.
Steve attended and graduated from Helias High School. Following graduation from High School, Steve served in the United States Army.
He was united in marriage on April 28, 1984, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Jefferson City to Cheryl Audrey Mosley who survives.
Steve worked for Nentwig Lumber Yard, AAA Mailing Service, Samco, River City Florist, Busch’s Florist as a delivery driver before his retirement.
He loved to watch the Pittsburg Steelers football games and St. Louis Cardinals baseball games. He also loved to go to the casino in Boonville and to play bingo. He loved to take daily drives around town looking at neighborhoods, cats, dogs and the swans and geese at Binder Park and McKay Park.
Survivors include his wife, Cheryl Nentwig, Jefferson City; four siblings, Douglas Nentwig, Alan (Linda) Nentwig, Kevin Nentwig, all of Jefferson City; Rebecca (Thomas) Koelling, Kansas City; two aunts, Betty Borman and Eleanor Nentwig, both of Jefferson City; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 1-2 p.m. Saturday, April 24, 2021, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with the Rev. Louis Nelen officiating.
Burial will be in Resurrection Catholic Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the Callaway Hills Animal Shelter.
Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

So sorry for your loss. I worked with Steve for a bit. If it snowed, he would pick me up (as he was our delivery driver at the time) and make sure that I made it safely to work. Such a good, kind heart. Steve-O, May you Rest In Peace, safely….. Wendy

I was a fellow classmate of Steve at Helias and was always hoping he would show up at our reunions since I no longer live in Jefferson City.
Hi Doug, Alan, Becky and Tom, Kevin, I was very shocked and saddened to hear of Steve’s death. You know how much all of us Kempkers regarding every member of your family and your parents. So many fond memories. I wish I could have joined you at the funeral services. Know that you are all in my prayers!
