Stephen Frank Berhorst, 72, of Westphalia, died Monday, May 24, 2010, at St. Marys Health Center.
He was born on August 15, 1937, in Westphalia, the son of the late Stephen and Jennie Wilde Berhorst. He was united in marriage on November 21, 1959, in Westphalia, to June Roseann Cassmeyer who resides at the home. Steve was a carpenter his whole life. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, and the Lions Club all of Westphalia. Stephen loved hunting, fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Other survivors include: six children, Greg Berhorst; Dennis (Dana) Berhorst, both of Holts Summit; Debra (Roger) Fitzpatrick, Eldon; Darla (Marty) Veltrop; Kevin (Gretchen) Berhorst; Sandy (Willie) Dulle, all of Westphalia; 13 grandchildren; and three sisters, Dorothy (Al) Kleffner; Leona (Frederick) Morfeld, both of Westphalia; and Agnes Schellman, Jefferson City. He was preceded in death by a sister, Clara Massman; and a brother, Joseph Berhorst.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Thursday, May 27, 2010, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Westphalia, with the Rev. Mark S. Smith officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Westphalia. Visitation will be 4:30-8 p.m. Wednesday, at the church with a prayer service at 4 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the St. Joseph Catholic Church, P.O. Box 116, Westphalia, Mo 65085.
