Stephen Lee Finley, 60, of Jefferson City, died Thursday, November 26, 2009, at his residence.
He was born on March 23, 1949, in Jefferson City, the son of the late Benjamin Wayland and Emma Faye Bell Finley. Stephen was a united States Army veteran serving during Vietnam War and the Korean Conflict. He received four Bronze stars with V De Vice. He was married on July 20, 1968, in Jefferson City, to Linda Kay Albertson who survives in Jefferson City. He was united in marriage on August 25, 2001, in Jefferson City to Karen Gail Evans who survives at the home. Stephen was employed with Central Dealers Service with his father. He later was a Master Cabinet Designer and Owner/Designer of Kitchens N More in Jefferson City. Stephen was active in Boy Scouts where he was a scout leader, life-time member of the VFW, and a sponsor of many civic activates including little league and race cars. He loved to repair clocks, design cabinets, landscape, watch birds and nature, and deep sea fish.
Other survivors include: one son, David Benjamin (Shelly) Finley, Palm Bay, Fl.; two step-daughters, Leslye (Larry) Schulte, Jefferson City; Joy Crowley, Jefferson City; three grandchildren, Ethan, Conner, and Zane Schulte; his step-mother, Frances Finley, Jefferson City; step-sister, Amy Rogers, Jefferson City; and a step-nephew, Patrick Rogers, Jefferson City. He was preceded in death by a brother, Benjamin Wayland Finley.
A celebration of life service will be held 5 p.m. Tuesday, December 1, 2009, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with Chaplain Jeremy Caudel officiating. Visitation will be 4-5 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the VFW, 2420 Hyde Park Rd., Jefferson City, Mo 65109.
