Sterling John Van Loo, 83, of Wardsville, died Sunday, December 5, 2004, at Villa Marie Skilled Care. He was born on November 29, 1921 in Wardsville, the son of Emil B. and Helen Teresa Prenger Van Loo. He was married on November 7, 1945 in Osage Bend to Viola Helen Rackers who died on November 6, 1983. Survivors include four sons and their wives, Fred L. and Bernice Van Loo; Dennis R. and Karen Van Loo; and Donald E. and Debbie Van Loo, all of Jefferson City; and Charles A. Van Loo, Kansas City, MO; two daughters and their husbands, Sandra K. and Roy Boessen, Holts Summit; and Peggy L. and Jeff Strope, Jefferson City; seventeen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, John Van Loo, Jefferson City; and David Van Loo, Lohman; and two sisters, Della Braun and Helen LePage, both of Jefferson City. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Virginia Twehous and Marian Bruemmer. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 9, 2004, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Wardsville, with the Rev. Gregory C. Meystrik and the Rev. Brenden Doyle officiating. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Wednesday, December 8, 2004, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home, 3210 N. Ten Mile Drive, Jefferson City, MO 65109 (893-5251), with a prayer service at 8 p.m. Memorial are suggested to St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, 6418 Route W., Jefferson City, MO 65101; or Central Kidney Association, POB 1915, Columbia, MO 65205. He was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Wardsville; Helias Knights of Columbus Council; Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2693; Sons of American Legion at Post 5; M.F.A.; National Farming Organization; and was a former member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and its Holy Name Society.
