Our thoughts and prayers to Susie’s family. I have great memories of visiting the Eiken store as a little girl and purchasing a bag full of candy for a dime or quarter from Frances or Susie. May she now be reaping the rewards in Heaven for a life well lived. I am sure she is enjoying being reunited with her family and friends who have gone before her. Our thoughts and prayers to you all. Susie will be dearly missed! My family has many fond memories of Susie when we would visit with her at Eikens. She was always interested in the kids and what activities they were involved in. She was especially gentle and kind to me while I was going through cancer treatments and didn’t look or feel the best. She would always take a moment to ask how I was doing and tell me that I looked just fine. She will always be in our hearts and in our memories. God Bless!
So sorry for your loss! I remember Susie at the store when I was very young. She was behind the ice cream counter dishing out to the kids that came in. Wonderful lady. She will be missed.
Well I would get back to town from time to time and go to Eikens for several reasons…and catching up was one of them…..I don’t remember the Ice Cream counter …but i do Remember penny Candy and the hard decisions that came from how best to divide it up between 11 kids from the soda bottles we found on the way up to the store……She was a quiet and gentle soul……sorry for your loss….
Hi,this is Ava, Nathan Smith’s step daughter. I have known her since we’ve moved next door for almost over a year. We became great friends, when I see her outside I would give her a hug each time. When I think of her death I cry. She would have asked me why I was crying. She always makes me laugh! Even now when I cry with her not around, I know that she’s standing right next to me telling me it is okay. I enjoyed our friendship even though it is not over.
