Thomas Andrew Koetting, 75, of Henley, passed away Wednesday, July 26, 2023, at his home, surrounded by his children.

He was born August 21, 1947, in Marys Home, Missouri, the son of the late Lawrence and Hilda (Rehagen) Koetting.

Thomas was united in marriage to Sophie Barton on August 10, 1968, who preceded him in death on January 27, 2002. He later married Judy “Lee” Skaggs on March 12, 2004, who also preceded him in death on March 17, 2015.

Thomas worked as a pipefitter for 45 years with Local Union 562 Plumbers and Pipefitters.

Tom enjoyed watching NASCAR, fishing and living by the river, gardening, and woodworking. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoyed drinking a cold beer with his neighbors.

Survivors include four children - Lori (Joe) Brockman, Stacy (Keith) Schrimpf, TJ (Abby) Koetting, Ashley (Samuel) Kempker; ten grandchildren - Courtney (Jason) Pfahl, Tyler (Katie) Brockman, Jake (Erica) Brockman, Zach Coleman, Justin Schrimpf, Carter Koetting, Claire Koetting, Camden Kempker, Eli Kempker, and Will Kempker; two great-grandchildren - Isaac Brockman and Charlotte Pfahl.

Surviving siblings are Norma Jean Lepper, Alfred (Janet) Koetting, Bernard (Margaret) Koetting, Dave (Elvira) Koetting, Larry (Eleanor) Koetting, and Ronnie (Carolyn) Koetting; sisters-in-law JoAnn Koetting, Martha Koetting, Carolyn Koetting, Maxine Bax, and Karen (Dean) Whipple; and several nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Wayne, Jim, and Kenny Koetting; brothers-in-law Walter Lepper, David Becker and Emil Bax; and sister-in-law Esther Becker.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, July 28, 2023, at Trimble Funeral Homes in Jefferson City. Tom requests that his friends and family drive their hot rods to the visitation and/or funeral. 

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday, July 29, 2023, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Russellville with the Rev. Msgr. Robert A. Kurwicki officiating.

Burial will be in Holy Family Catholic Cemetery in Freeburg, Missouri.

Memorials are suggested to Brockman Strong or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

  1. Sorry for your family’s loss. He was a good man and a hell of a fighter 👊 but glad he isn’t suffering any longer. I didn’t know him that well but glad I met him. He raised some great kids! May he be at peace 💛❤️
