Thomas Leon Brown, 89, of Jefferson City, died Sunday, September 24, 2006, at his residence. He was born on Sept. 25, 1916 in New Hartford, MO, the son of Opal Vest and Tressie Elizabeth Hughes Brown. He was married on Jan. 29, 1946 in Jefferson City to Catherine Ann Schulte who survives at the home. A 1935 graduate of Wellsville, MO, High School, Mr. Brown retired in 1978 as Assistant Director of Workmens Compensation for the Missouri Department of Transportation where he had been employed for twenty years. He had previously been employed for nine years with Brown Feed Store, Jefferson City, and ten years with Quisenberry Feed Mills, Kansas City, MO. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Other survivors include one brother, John H. Brown, Jefferson City; two sisters, Mary Sue Hemmel, Lees Summit, MO; and Rose Marie Schell, Tulahoma, TN; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Dorothy Brown and Catherine Teresa Brown. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2006, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Rev. M. Brendan Griffey officiating. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be 9:30 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Memorials are suggested to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 1206 E.
