Thomas Paul Deeken, 39, of Koeltztown, died Tuesday, May 5, 2009, at University Hospital and Clinics. He was born on November 26, 1969, in Jefferson City, the son of John Francis and Loraine Frances Welschmeyer Deeken. His parents survive in Koeltztown. Thomas had previously been employed with Diamond Dog Food. Thomas loved the outdoors including fishing, hunting, and traveling. Other survivors include: seven brothers and sisters and their spouses, Dianne and Gene Helton, Vienna; Darla and Virgil Helton, Vienna; Leon and Elaine Deeken, Koeltztown; Priscilla and Andy Mengwasser, Koeltztown; Ronnie Deeken, Lake Ozarks; Jeffrey and Amanda Deeken, Koeltztown; Mary and Devin Jaegers, Koeltztown; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Deeken. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Friday, May 8, 2009, at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Koeltztown with the Rev. Msgr. Marion J. Makarewicz officiating. Burial will be in St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Argyle, Mo with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the Thomas Deeken Memorial Fund.
