Thomas Louis “Tom” Stegeman, 70, of Westphalia, Missouri, passed away peacefully Sunday, October 29, 2023, at the University of Missouri Health Center in Columbia surrounded by his family.

He was born in Meta on March 10, 1953; a son to the late Louis G. and Celestine (Loethen) Stegeman.

On July 23, 1977, he was united in marriage to Judy (Kleffner) Stegeman in Brinktown, Missouri.

Tom was a 1971 graduate of Fatima High School.  Following high school, Tom continued his education at Lincoln University where he graduated in 1975 with his Bachelor of Science (BS) in Accounting.

Tom was a hard worker who began working at the age of 16 in 1969, ultimately paying his way through college.  He dedicated over 50-years of his life to serving others through a variety of roles, including General Manager for Royal Oak Charcoal, Plant Manager for Quaker Windows, and various boards including the Three Rivers Electric Cooperative where he served as Board President, the Missouri Forest Products Association, and the Osage County R-III School District School Board.

A lover of the outdoors, Tom enjoyed many hobbies in his free time, including hunting, fishing, golf, and especially pickle ball in his later years.  Tom enjoyed being around people and getting to know others.  He had a deep love for his grandchildren who belovingly knew him as Paw-Paw.  Family was everything to Tom and he will be greatly missed by those who know and love him.

He is survived by his wife, Judy Stegeman, Westphalia; three children, Lindsey (Gary) Thomas, Centerton, AR; Tyler (Karli) Stegeman, Houston, TX; and Kelly (Ben) Neuner, Columbia, MO; five grandchildren, Rylee Thomas, Olivia, Charlotte, and Christopher Stegeman, and Tomi Neuner; brother, Dale Stegeman (fiancée Amy Clark), Waynesville; and sister, Sandra (Bud) Farmer, Jefferson City.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Celestine Stegeman.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, November 2, 2023, at Trimble Funeral Homes – Westphalia with a prayer service at 3 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Friday, November 3, 2023, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Westphalia with the Rev. Dylan Schrader officiating.

Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mid-America Chapter of the ALS Association, The Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration or St. Joseph Catholic Church.
