Virginia Cornelia Rose, 86, formerly of Jefferson City, died Saturday, April 27, 2002, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was born on July 27, 1915 in Russellville, the daughter of Leo Henry Gratz and Flora Mary Hackman Gratz. She was married on June 7, 1938 in Tipton to William Curtis Rose who died on July 2, 1990. She is survived by three daughters, St. Mary Charitas, P.C.C., Newport News, Virginia; Carol Pailer, Albuquerque, New Mexico; and Sandra L. Keeney, Kansas City; one son, John W. Rose, Jefferson City; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and one sister, Mary Lee McHenry, Jefferson City. Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. The Rev. Gregory L. Higley will officiate. Entombment will be in Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home, 3210 N. Ten Mile Drive, Jefferson City, where the Rosary will be recited at at 7:30 p.m. Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105. A homemaker for most of her life, she was employed for eight years as a clerk typist with the Missouri Division of Employment Security. She was a 1932 graduate of Tipton High School and later attended business school. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church; two chapters of the Immaculata Club; St. Anne's Sodality; St. Marys Health Center Auxiliary; Janus Club; Ten High Dance Club; Guys & Dolls Dance Club; was a former Girl Scout leader and Room Mother; and was a charter member of Meadow Lake Acres Country Club.
