Virginia Mae Horstdaniel, 77, of Westphalia, died Friday, Feb. 4, 2005, at Westphalia Retirement Center. She was born on April 13, 1927 in Westphalia, the daughter of Joseph Theodore and Elizabeth Castrop Ella Wiegers. She was married on May 12, 1948 in Westphalia to Joseph John Horstdaniel who survives at the home. A homemaker, Mrs. Horstdaniel was employed with Tweedy Shoe Factory for fifteen years, and as a cook with Fatima High School for twenty-five years. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Westphalia; American Legion Auxiliary; Western Catholic Union; Westphalia Senior Citizens; and St. Anne Sewing Circle. Other survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and David Hartmann, Barnhart, MO; two grandsons, Clark Hartmann and Grant Hartmann, both of Barnhart; and one sister and brother-in-law, Marcie Ann and Buddy Redel, Westphalia. She was preceded in death by one sister, Irene Ficken. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 7, 2005, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Westphalia, with the Rev. Philip M. Kane officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Westphalia. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 6, 2005, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home, Westphalia, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Memorials are suggested to St. Joseph Catholic Church, POB 116, Westphalia, MO 65085; St. Joseph Catholic School, POB 205, Westphalia, MO 65085; or Masses.
