Wanda Lee Mantle
November 14, 1940 ~ March 3, 2024
Wanda Lee Mantle, 83, of Jefferson City, passed away Sunday, March 3, 2024, at her home surrounded by family.
She was born November 14, 1940, in Moniteau County, the daughter of Aubrey and Lucy (Farhni) Johnston.
She was united in marriage on October 2, 1964, in Cedar City, Missouri to Herman Neil Mantle who preceded her in death on May 20, 2007.
Wanda dedicated over 38 years of her life to serving the Missouri Department of Labor and Industrial Relations as an Appeals Technician.
Wanda found joy in the simple pleasures of life such as gardening, bird watching, puzzles, and attending auctions with her beloved husband, Herman. However, her greatest source of happiness came from spending time with her grandchildren.
Throughout her life, Wanda valued the connections she made with family and friends. She held onto memories dearly and never let anyone slip from her thoughts. Her kind heart and unwavering hope for the best in others remained a guiding light for those who knew her. She often pondered why some relationships faded away but always held onto the belief that there was room for reconciliation.
Survivors include her son, Doug (Mendi) Mantle, Jefferson City, MO; six grandchildren, Justin Runkle, California MO; Marissa Runkle-Mueller (Keith), Holts Summit MO; Keegan Mantle (Luvyna), Kansas; Quinton Mantle, Jefferson City; Tennzlee Mantle, Jefferson City; Jaydon Gibler, Jefferson City; several great-grandchildren; and six siblings, Martha (Roy) Green, Eldon, MO; James Johnston, Mercer, MO; Wayne (Kathy) Johnston, Iowa; Carl (Joyce) Johnston, Warrensburg, MO; Mary Corpening, Cole Camp, MO; and Harold Johnston, Holts Summit, MO.
