Willemina Josephine Trachsel

Willemina Josephine Trachsel, 92, of Jefferson City, passed away Monday, August 7, 2023, at Westphalia Hills.
She was born September 25, 1930, in Argyle, Missouri, the daughter of Herman Henry and Otillia (Bock) Wieberg.
She was united in marriage on August 4, 1951, in Jefferson City to Ernest Emil Trachsel who preceded her in death on October 23, 2016.
Willemina was a dedicated individual who spent many years working for International Shoe Factory, the Missouri Department of Revenue, and most notably, over two decades at Westinghouse (ABB).
Willemina found solace and strength in her faith as a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the St. Ann's Sodality.
Willemina had a wide range of interests and hobbies that brought joy to her life. She had an incredible talent for quilting and took pride in creating beautiful works of art with her own hands. Gardening allowed her to connect with nature, finding peace and tranquility.
In her leisure time, Willemina loved to cast her fishing line into calm waters, finding delight in the thrill of catching fish. Engaging in games such as bingo and dominos with loved ones brought laughter and friendly competition into her home. She also seized opportunities to travel alongside her husband, exploring new destinations together.
Survivors include three daughters, Karen Van Loo, Jefferson City; Patricia (Clifford) Holzem, Taos; Pamela (Bruce) Baumgardner, Republic, MO; five grandchildren, Derek (Dena) Van Loo, Danielle (Travis) Vieth, Craig (Lisa) Holzem, Christopher (Amanda) Boyce, Wesley (Michelle) Boyce; twelve great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild on the way; and five siblings, Catherine Rustemeyer, St. Martins; Leona Werdenhausen, Holts Summit; Esther Doggett, Taos; Joann (Lawrence) Wansing, Meta; Ellanora (Charles) Huhmann, Holts Summit.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; son-in-law, Dennis Van Loo; four sisters, Viola Wieberg, Bernita Hake, Emergine Schulte, Louise Moeller; and a brother, Norbert Wieberg.
Visitation will be 12-2 p.m. Friday, August 11, 2023, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Matthew Flatley officiating.
Entombment will be in Resurrection Catholic Mausoleum.
Memorials are suggested to the Helias Foundation or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
