He was born in Fulton to Dr. Hugh Granville Dallas and Gertrude Marie Westerman Dallas. He was married on October 5, 1938 in Jefferson City to Dorothy Marie Dulle who died on January 14, 1990. Survivors include one son, James D. Dallas, Jefferson City; two daughters, Dorothy A. Caspari, Clayton; and Mary Louise Wilson, Jefferson City; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Marie Dallas Clayton, Jefferson City. He was preceded in death by two infant sons, Bill Dallas and John Dallas; and a granddaughter, Leigh Anne Caspari. He wa a member of First Christian Church; Veteran of Foreign Wars; and was a volunteer with the American Red Cross, Truman Memorial Veterans Hospital, Columbia; and Boy Schout Troop 4 at St. Peter Catholic Church. Memorials are suggested to First Christian Church Building Fund, 327 E. Capital Avenue, Jefferson City, MO 65101; St. Joseph Home for the Aged, 1306 W. Main Street, Jefferson City, MO 65109; or Community Hospices of America, 628 E. High Street, Jefferson City, MO 65101. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a 1932 graduate of Jefferson City High School. He was employed with Centeral Mutual Insurance Company; farmed in Callaway County; and retired from the Missouri Office of Administration.
