William Ellsworth Marbaker, II, 86, formerly of Jefferson City, died Saturday, September 10, 2005, at Friendship Village, Schaumburg, IL. He was born on May 15, 1919, in Philadelphia, PA, the son of Dr. Edward Ellsworth and Mabel Price Marbaker. He was married on December 8, 1945 in Webster Groves, MO to Norine Hendricks who died on February 27, 2000. Mr. Marbaker attended Taylor Allderdice High School in Pittsburgh, PA graduating in 1937. He graduated from Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania in 1941 where he was a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. He served in the United States Army, 5th Air Force, during World War II as a Captain in the Southwest Pacific Theatre and earned a Bronze Star. He was the Executive Secretary of the Mining Industry Council of Missouri for twenty years, retiring in 1992. Previously, he had worked in St. Louis as Vice-President of Missouri-Illinois Material Company. Mr. Marbaker was a member of St. Joseph Cathedral and the Rotary Club. He loved golf, bowling, cross-word puzzles, and poetry. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, William E. and Jane Marbaker III, Jefferson City; one daughter and son-in-law, Christine and Paul Teipel, Schaumburg, IL; four grandchildren, Matt Teipel (Lori), Amy Williams (Mike), Erin Marbaker, and Andy Marbaker; and three great-grandchildren, Jake Williams, Rachel Williams, and Jessica Teipel. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and one sister, Ethel Chickie Boileau. Mass of Christian Burial will be 12 Noon, Wednesday, September 14th, 2005 at St. Joseph Cathedral with the Rev. Robert A. Kurwicki officiating. Burial with full military honors will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be 10-11:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 14th, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home.
