WILLIAM JOSEPH CLEMENTE

William Joseph Clemente, 90, of Henley, died Thursday, April 1, 2004, at Villa Marie Skilled Care. He was born on October 15, 1913 in San Martino, Italy, south of Naples, the son of Emil and Maria Calletta Clemente. He was married in 1940 in Queens, New York to Aroxi Mitzi Goshkarian who died in 1952. He was married on March 2, 1954 in Winston, Virginia to Mary Lou Lively who died on November 24, 1999. Survivors include two sons, Roger W. Clemente, Highlands, New Jersey; and Guy G. Clemente, New York City; a step-daughter and her husband, Vanessa and Lloyd Collins, College Mound, MO; a daughter-in-law, Kathleen B. Clemente, Henley; two grandchildren, Lillian Vigneri and Kimberly Clemente; two step-grandchildren, John Viverito and Janine Viverito; and three great-grandchildren, Matthew Vigneri; Eric Vigneri; and Christopher Vigneri. He was preceded in death by a son, Emil Louis Clemente in 2001; one brother, Gary Clemente; and one sister, Julia Sabatini. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Monday, April 5, 2004, at Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church, Marys Home, with the Rev. Clarence E. Wiederholt officiating. Burial will be in Our Lady of the Snows Cemetery, Marys Home. Visitation will be 2-5 p.m. Sunday, April 4th, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home, Jefferson City, with a prayer service at 4:30 pm. Moving from Italy to New York at an early age, Mr. Clemente founded a successful utility construction company which completed many projects in the metro New York City area including Manhattan and the Worlds Fair. He semi-retired in 1967 and relocated to Henley where he raised cattle on a 1500 acre ranch. He was a member of the Roman Catholic Church.
