William Raymond Kramer

William Raymond “Bill” Kramer, 90, of Jefferson City, passed away peacefully Tuesday, July 18, 2023, surrounded by family.
He was born January 12, 1933, in Bonnots Mill, Missouri, the son of Fridolin and Leoba (Vogel) Kramer.
He was a graduate of Loose Creek High School.
Bill served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.
He was united in marriage on April 26, 1952, in Frankenstein, Missouri to Mary Ann Stiefermann who survives at the home.
Bill found great fulfillment in his career at the United States Postal Service, where he served as a clerk in Jefferson City and later became the Postmaster in Jamestown. His commitment and dedication to his work were unwavering until his well-deserved retirement.
His faith played a central role in his life, and he was an active member of St. Peter Catholic Church. Bill's devotion extended beyond his church as he was involved in various organizations such as the Knights of Columbus, Holy Name Society, past Commander of the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 17, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2693.
In his leisure time, Bill embraced outdoor activities such as fishing and hunting during his younger years. He took pleasure in engaging in numerous card games and board games with friends and family. Additionally, he honed his woodworking skills. Sports was also a passion within Bill, particularly his support for the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team and the Kansas City Chiefs football team.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann Kramer, Jefferson City; five daughters, Sharon (Michael) Bax, Freeburg; Mary Jane (Ric) Heckman, California; Susan (Kenny) Strope, Lee’s Summit; Linda Knierim (Kris Kroeger), Ashland; Judy (Rick) Johnson, Jefferson City; a son-in-law, Jim Jarrell of St. Martins and his family; eleven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild with one more on the way; a brother, Rev. George Kramer, Jefferson City; and a sister-in-law, JohAnn Kramer, Jefferson City.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter, Yvonne Kramer; a daughter, Debra Jarrell; and a brother, Daniel Kramer.
Visitation will be 9:30-10:30 a.m. Friday, July 21, 2023, at St. Peter Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Jeremy Secrist officiating.
Entombment with military honors will be in Resurrection Catholic Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Disabled American Veterans or to Vogelweid Learning Center.

Bill was a pistol for sure. He will be Missed. I joined the DAV 17 about 6 years ago and Bill was the Commander and he treated me as if he new me for years. God has taken another Great Man. Semper Fi Bill now Go Rest High On That Mountain!

He was the patriarch of the clan, and we will miss his pleasant company. I always appreciated his and Mary Ann’s showing up at Vogel gatherings when I came home.
