WILLIAM MARVIN ADAIR
September 28, 1927 ~ February 20, 2010
He was born on Sept. 28, 1927, in Lupus, Mo., the son of the late George Marvin and Trellis Weant Adair. He was married on Feb. 25, 1950, in Jefferson City to Jessie Pauletta Hodge who died on Dec. 3, 2001. Mr. Adair retired in 1988 as Manager of the Machine Department at Mesker Door Company in Hazelwood, Mo., where he had been employed for sixteen years. He was a United States veteran having served in the U.S. Army from 1946 to 1947; the U.S. Air Force from 1952 to 1956; and the U.S. Army from 1960 to 1963. He was a member of Fountain of Life Family Worship Center, and enjoyed fishing, playing cards, sports, and joke telling.
Survivors include one son, James (Ruth) Adair, St. Charles. Mo.; three daughters, Brenda (Ronald) Whitley, St. Roberts, Mo.; Verlon McKay, Jefferson City; and Paulla (Lyle) Sheely, Jefferson City; twelve grandchildren including William Adair whom the couple raised; and ten great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Ila Dean Sanford and Vera Mae Goff.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2010, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with Pastor Marcus Sage officiating. Burial will be in Longview Cemetery.
