William T. Bill Stiefermann, 79, of Jefferson City, died Monday, August 9, 2010, at St. Marys Health Center.
He was born on November 7, 1930, in Loose Creek, the son of the late Henry and Josephine Lock Stiefermann. He was united in marriage on June 9, 1962, in Port Hudson, Mo. to Mary Elizabeth Boland who resides at the home. Bill was a United States Air Force veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. Bill was employed with Three Rivers Electric Co., was a teacher with Fatima High School in Westphalia, and retired as an appraiser with the Missouri Highway Department. He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church and American Legion Post 5 where he was apart of the Legion Police, was a volunteer with the Juvenile Justice System in Jefferson City, and was a volunteer with the VA Hospital in Columbia.
Other survivors include: three sons, Tom (Christina) Stiefermann, Jefferson City; Jeff (Angela) Stiefermann, Jefferson City; Dan (Laura) Stiefermann, Hartsburg; five grandchildren, David (Hillary) Stiefermann, Sr., Jessica (Tyson) Shero, Grace Stiefermann, Alice Stiefermann, Sarah Stiefermann; one great-grandson, David Stiefermann, Jr.; one sister, Evelyn Schwartze, Westphalia, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one son, David Stiefermann; one brother, Clarence Stiefermann; and three sisters, LaVonia Stephens, Alice Stiefermann, and Eleanor Stiefermann.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Friday, August 13, 2010, at St. Peter Catholic Church with the Rev. Francis W. Doyle officiating. Burial with full military honors will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-6:30 p.m. Thursday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. Memorials are suggested to Vogelweid Learning Center, 314 W. High St., Jefferson City, Mo 65101; or to the Samaritan Center, 1310 E. McCarty St., Jefferson City, Mo 65101.
